What Assistive Technology Can LifeTec Help With?

Our occupational therapists are interested in keeping you doing the things you love - the activities and roles that matter to you. We work with you to explore what your current challenges are, your lifestyle values, your existing supports, and other aspects that might influence what is best for you. Our goal is to help you to get assistive technology that truly works for you. This may be different to something that works for someone else.

While there is no exhaustive list of assistive technologies, we have included a list of items that are typically considered for funding within the different funding schemes in Australia. While LifeTec can support with most of these, in some cases input from a different health professional is indicated.

Please not that assistive technology and home modifications are recommended to help overcome challenges relating to disability or age. If the item is for everyday use, related to medical needs, or does not have a clear link with disability-related functional challenges, we will be unable to recommend it as your prescribing health professional.

Funding bodies will also have additional criteria that must be met before approval to purchase and may have a different list to that below. We can discuss your options in our initial meeting, taking into account your individual circumstances and preferred funding strategy.
